Cooperative Education
Each year more than 3,000 undergraduates enjoy all the benefits of college life with the added bonus of gaining progressive work experience with one organization, industry contacts, and money for tuition on the Co-op Plan. The average starting salary for co-op positions as of spring 2002 was approximately $2,100 per month. This amount increases in subsequent work periods as you progress in school and at work.
Internships
More than half of the undergraduate students at Georgia Tech participate in at least one internship experience before they graduate. Students fill times when they are not planning to be enrolled in classes, most often during summer term. Pay is usually the equivalent of a co-op position, approximately $2,100 per month. Through internships, students are able to sample a variety of work experiences during their undergraduate years.
Undergraduate Research
More than 100 Georgia Tech professors, including many of our most renowned scholars, are involving undergraduates in cutting-edge research as early as their freshman year. Students often refer to their research experience as the most valuable part of their undergraduate education.
ROTC
Georgia Tech offers voluntary Army, Navy, and Air Force ROTC programs. Each ROTC unit offers two-, three-, and four-year scholarship programs. Students who earn a bachelor's degree or higher degree while successfully completing the advanced ROTC courses of any of the three services can receive a commission as an officer in the reserve or regular forces.
